About The Canary Islands

Some seven hundred miles to the south west of the Straights of Gibraltar and a few hundred miles off the northwest African coast, lie the rugged volcanic islands of Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hiero.​These seven islands, all belonging to Spain, range from cosmopolitan tourist destinations to quiet isolated outposts.
