For our guides, we continually research and get feedback from many of the industry's top professional yacht Captains and crew, in order to create an 'Inside Guide' of their own personal recommended services for any cruising destination or yachting base around the world.

We only list the services for whom we have received consistently good positive feedback. This wealth of information will help ‘fast track’ yachtsmen to the most effective, efficient and reliable services and contacts available.

The Royal Yacht Squadron's Bicentenary Regatta 26-31st July 2015
It was four seasons in one week for this historical Regatta….from gales gusting 30 knots on the Monday that forced sailing to be cancelled for all classes, Spring tides of 3-4 knots, to a windless afternoon that ended the regatta in the Solent on the Friday!
Almost 100 yachts took part, with crews from 24 yacht clubs worldwide, three grand Classics, and three elegant J class as well as modern cutting edge grand prix race boats in this IRC fleet.
160ft Eleonora, Mariquita & Sumurun were racing in class 0 IRC. It was Robert Tobin's 1914 Sumurun that took overall victory, with two seconds & two firsts in the series.
The J class yachts came up from their last meet in Falmouth & what a spectacle they were - these three beauties drew quite a crowd! Ranger, Lionheart & Velsheda racing once again in these waters…It was Ronald de Waal's Velsheda that was in command this week, in what are considered to be her 'home waters'  - she came first in all her races and her class, with Lionheart 2nd, Ranger 3rd.
" This is where the J's heritage is, Velsheda's home, and so it is very special indeed to win here" commented Ronald de Waal.
