We only list the services for whom we have received consistently good positive feedback. This wealth of information will help ‘fast track’ yachtsmen to the most effective, efficient and reliable services and contacts available.
The Transatlantic Race 2015
A race of Superlatives & records broken!
Almost all yachts taking part in the 2,800 mile Transatlantic Race from Newport Rhode Island to Lizard Point on the SW coast of England are safely in, after 3 weeks at sea. By 17th July, the tally stands at 28 finishers, two still at sea, and five boats retired.
Bryon Ehrhart’s 63 ft Lucky is the confirmed winner, and was first across the line in 8 days, 21 hours and 34 minutes!
It has been a race of extremes…storm force winds & gales mid Atlantic with 40-50 knots recorded, calm weather for others & an ice exclusion zone 'Point Alpha' that yachts had to sail south of.
Top speeds were recorded of 41.2 knots by the trimaran Phaedo3 & a new 24 hour monohull record of 618.01 miles, making Jim Clark's 100ft maxi Comanche the fastest monohull on the planet!
