A global resource and training program for mental health onboard.
Seas The Mind are dedicated to the creation of mentally healthy and resilient crew onboard yachts, through Mental Health First Aid training (MHFA).
Co-Founder and Director, Emma Ross, with the experience of a 15 year career working on superyachts, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, she adapted the MHFAider® course for the yachting industry.
They train seafarers to become Mental Health First Aiders, which they feel is as important as STCW certifications.
Mental Health First Aid is a practical resource for crew to tackle, recognise and fortify their own and others’ mental health on board. MHFA is an opportunity to reduce depression and anxiety risks in seafarers, which may also reduce risks of injury and illness, and drastically improve crew retention.
Their aim is that ‘Every crew member’s mental health supported at sea.’
