Wingfield Estate – Rum Distillery

Well worth visiting this fascinating site dating back to1625 – recent excavations have discovered what is thought to be the oldest rum distillery in the Caribbean!

Set in a beautiful area with a river running though the property, this interesting estate now welcomes visitors. Presented as a ‘self service’ historic tour, you may wander at your leisure, learning about a bygone age through the informative signage that is strategically placed throughout. The rum distillery site is also adjacent to Romney Manor – making for a worthwhile morning of sight-seeing at both venues!
