Port Arthur Historic Sites

This is one of the main historical penal settlements on Tasmania, to where Australia sent their felon’s. Not just the ruins of the prison but also the surrounding community houses and buildings, surrounded by Tasmanian farmland and rugged coastline. VIP passes are available for bespoke tours and they organize well-delivered ‘ghost tours’. 50 mins drive from Hobart and there is a very a scenic anchorage in the bay right at the site.
