Boston Bay, in Portland Parish is a protected round / elliptical bay with a relatively narrow opening to seaward. Left and right hand waves can both be generated in the bay - which are often of manageable chest high proportions. The bay is surfable up to wave heights of 10ft, with 5ft height being the optimum size for a great ride. A local ‘surf school’ and board rental operation is always present on the beach, manned by some friendly locals (see contacts) who can generally be found smoking and hanging out at the dilapidated ‘surf shack’ onsite. The bay also offers opportunities for sunbathing for non-surfers.Read more
