La Promenade des Anglais

Nice is famous for the Promenade des Anglais, where you can see and be seen by walkers, joggers, cyclists, dog owners and in-line skaters. This "walkway of the English" was financed by Lewis Way - an English Minister who lived in Nice during the winter months. Completed in the 1820's, it was a very popular location at which to lodge by the early 1900's… and appears to have remained a coveted location. The white-pebbled beach stretches for about 7 kilometres towards the airport following the gorgeous turquoise sea around the curve of the ‘Bay of Angels’.
