Herceg Novi
Quick links: Contact Description Reviews
Founded in 1382 as a fortress and set strategically at the mouth of the Bay of Kotor, Herceg Novi has been ruled, over the centuries, by the Ottoman Empire, Spain, Venitians, Russia, France and Austria. Built along a steep incline and like Budva - a mix of the new and old - it is rich in towers, squares, and churches. From here you can catch high-speed boats out to the beaches of the Luštica Peninsula. With many waterfront cafés, beach bars and restaurants, it turns into a lively place during warm summer evenings.
