Les Baux-de-Provence
Quick links: Contact Description Reviews
This famous medieval hill village is one of the most dramatic in Provence, and can be found about an hour and a half NW of Marseille. The view from the top of this car free village is absolutely spectacular. The surrounding dramatic rocks and cliffs are said to have inspired Dante Alighieri in his vivid descriptions of Purgatory in the Inferno. Les Baux de Provence has a very nice restaurant and charming guesthouse (see 'Restaurants' and 'Hotel' sections). As one Captain told us... “It is a very special place to visit.”
