A massive 464-acre park, Colt State is a fabulous way to take in some of Rhode Island’s beauty and spend the day playing outdoors. Fly a kite, ride a bike, take a stroll, go for a run, walk through the woods, have a picnic, toss a Frisbee, watch a local yacht club regatta, or just snooze under a shade-tree. Colt State Park has four miles of bike trails, 400-plus picnic tables, a museum, a chapel, and six picnic groves; don’t forget to grab a Del’s Ice lemonade on the way out! Free.
