The Perini Navi Cup 19-22 September 2018

There will be three days of action packed racing amongst a fleet that has averaged some 16 entries since it started in 2004, showcasing the sheer dimensions and luxury of some of the best sailing yachts in the world.  Reigning champion is the 56m sailing yacht Rosehearty.  http://www.yccs.it/en/regate-2018/info/perini_navi_cup-263.html

NZ Millennium Cup, New Zealand January 2019

It may be on the other side of the world for the many in the northern hemisphere’s superyacht fleet but the Millennium Cup is a well-established annual event which has been running since, you’ve guessed it, 2000.  The first one took place during the America’s Cup season in that year and it will be a regatta to plan for again now that Auckland will once again be hosting the Cup in 2021.  Organised by the NZ Marine Export Group the NZ Millennium Cup is a celebration of good racing, great cruising grounds and exceptional hospitality. The owner of the 34m Silvertip, built by Yachting Developments sums up why it’s worth making a trip down under to take part. “Racing in the Bay of Islands surrounded by a dolphin pod playing at the bow is always a treat. The organisation is flawless.”  While this year’s event is already complete, it’s not too early to think about next year or beyond.  http://www.millenniumcup.com/

Asia Superyacht Rendezvous Cup, Phuket, Thailand January 2018

The 17th edition of the three-day annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, hosted at the Sala Phuket Resort and Spa in Thailand, drew to a close on 21th January 2018, so there’s nearly a year to prepare for the next one with dates yet to be announced.

The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous Cup is the only superyacht regatta in Asia.  It welcomes both sailing yachts, and motor yachts which can ‘cruise’ around a course alongside the competitive racing fleet.

The event is very popular – 19 racing entries made it to the start line in January. The winner of the ASR Cup 2018 was the 28.4-metre Hoek-designed sailing ketch Aphrodite and amongst the many other well known attendees enjoying the tropical hospitality of this beautiful part of the world were 36 metre schooner Yanekee Too, 57.5m Huisman-built Twizzle and the 34m Tiara.  With 16 motor yachts, including the 72m Titania, and the largest in the fleet, the ultra megayacht 85m Sunrays the rendez-vous is a spectacle to behold. http://www.asia-superyacht-rendezvous.com/

Superyacht Challenge Antigua February 2019

This is an incredibly friendly regatta now in its eight year, attracting around a dozen of the world’s most beautiful yachts every February.  Racing takes place against the backdrop of Antigua’s tropical south coast, where the trade winds all but guarantee great wind conditions.  Described by the helmsman of the top performing yacht of 2018, Arcadia, the beautiful 28m Hoek design, as ‘laid back’ the event heralds the start of the Caribbean season for the giants of the racing circuit.  http://superyachtchallengeantigua.com/
