Tributes and heartfelt messages have poured in from around the world, in shock and overwhelming sadness at the sudden passing on Thursday 8th February, of Roger Horner, Group Managing Director of e3 Systems in Palma, Mallorca.

We send our profound thoughts, condolences and love to his adored family, wife Nicky, and daughters Lucy and Katy. The Horners are a true loving unit, family was at the heart of Roger's life, and boy was he proud of his girls!

A much loved community man, he had an incredible natural ability to bring people together socially, in business or to raise money for his favourite charity Yachting Gives Back. With a wonderful zest for life, charisma and always a gentle smile, Roger loved nothing more than connecting people, and regaling stories over a glass of his favourite red wine!

Roger's 'work family' was e3 Systems; he was a founding member of e3 together with Alan Walker, Group Engineering Director. They both arrived on Mallorca on small liveaboard sailing yachts, moved ashore and set up e3 28 years ago.

All who had the pleasure to meet Roger know that he was a larger-than-life character, an entrepreneur with great energy and vision. Roger has been at the helm of something all his life – of his early business in the UK, his family, his sailing yacht and of course e3 Systems.

The close-knit group of e3 on both sides of the Atlantic, utterly shocked and saddened by his passing, commented,
"We will continue Roger’s legacy and passion by maintaining e3 at the forefront of the superyacht communications’ industry. Our deepest condolences to Nicky, Roger’s wife and our e3 colleague, and to their two daughters Lucy and Katy."

Through his positive energy, love of life and intuitive business acumen, Roger was a supportive mentor and beacon to so many - a shining light and 'rock' to his family, many friends and his business.
