Andrew Blatter worked in the Superyacht Industry since 1988, when he first 'walked the docks' of the Club de Mar, in Palma, looking for a passage West! Since then, he has sailed around the world and completed six TransAtlantic crossings in his capacity as Professional Captain. He has his STCW '95 MCA Class IV Master for yachts up to 3000 tons and is an RYA Yachtmaster Intructor.
Whilst based in Palma for a number of years, with his wife Caroline, he managed refits and got to experience the marine industry first hand, chartering throughout the Med. A prominent new build out of Southampton took them to the Caribbean for a couple of years, and later whilst based there on his own boat with his young family, he began writing as 'World Correspondent' for Boat International.
Having sailed up and down the Caribbean island chain chartering and on their own boat, they have extensive knowldege of the islands. In 2002, they went on to set up Superyacht Publications, which now publishes five Guide Books.
Andrew was Director and Editor of all the Superyacht Services Guides, until sadly deteriorating ill health meant he could no longer work.
