Puerto Rico
Caribbean Cruising backed by U.S. Infrastructure
Puerto Rico by Superyacht

As a self-governing territory of the United States, Puerto Rico brings together the character of the Greater Antilles with a distinctly modern Caribbean energy. Old San Juan’s fortified waterfront and colourful streets contrast with the rainforest of El Yunque, the surf coast around Rincón and the quieter waters surrounding Culebra and Vieques. Spanish, African, Taíno and American influences shape the island’s culture, cuisine and music, while its varied coastline offers a rewarding change of pace between city calls, island cruising and time ashore.
Destination Highlights
- Old San Juan
- Culebra & Vieques
- Scuba Diving & Sportfishing
- Superyacht Berthing
- Refit & Haul-out
- U.S. Caribbean Base
Puerto Rico works particularly well for itineraries combining guest experiences with a practical northern Caribbean base. Owners and guests can move easily between historic San Juan, golf, rainforest excursions, surfing and the smaller eastern islands, while captains benefit from dependable guest transfers, crew logistics and yacht support. Its location also suits regional itinerary planning between the Greater Antilles and the Virgin Islands, although U.S. customs, immigration and visa requirements require advance preparation through an experienced yacht agent.
International Access
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is the principal international gateway. Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport at Isla Grande supports general aviation and air-taxi operations close to San Juan’s yacht facilities.
Yachting Infrastructure
Puerto Rico offers dedicated superyacht and large-yacht berthing, yacht agents, provisioning, bunkering and a broad technical network. Current confirmed haul-out is principally by travelift and hydraulic trailer, supported by skilled trades covering engineering, electrical systems, hydraulics, composites, metalwork, paint and refit services.
- Max berthing: alongside marina berth up to 140 LOA and about 9 m draft
- Max haul-out: travelift up to 165 tonnes and about 38 m LOA, 9,75 m beam
