Marina Port Vell reinforces its position as the Mediterranean’s leading Superyacht marina following its transformation

Following the completion of its ambitious transformation project in July 2024, Marina Port Vell is now fully operational, solidifying its position as a premier superyacht destination in the Mediterranean. With an investment of €20 million, the marina has enhanced its infrastructure and services, providing an unparalleled experience for yacht owners, captains, and crew members.

Enhanced infrastructure and improved services

The development included the reorganisation of the water surface, an extensive landscaping project, and the installation of a state-of-the-art fuel supply system. These improvements have created a refined and efficient environment, catering to the needs of the superyacht community. The reorganisation of the water surface, covering 8,531 square metres, has increased the marina's specialisation in large yachts, with 23 additional berths for yachts up to 70 metres. This project optimised the positioning of moored vessels, enhancing the visible area of the water, allowing visitors to enjoy the views of Port Vell.

The landscaping initiative, affecting 17,637 square metres across several docks, has created additional green spaces, contributing to a more tranquil and environmentally sustainable atmosphere. Marina Port Vell has aligned with the city’s commitment to green spaces, enhancing its appeal and overall ambiance.

Exclusivity and sustainability in a premier setting

Marina Port Vell has raised the standard of excellence with a redesigned layout that prioritises privacy and comfort. The reorganisation of the marina has improved visibility of the waterfront, while expanded leisure areas provide a welcoming environment for visitors.

A key feature of the transformation is the new fuel supply system, which incorporates a 510-metre distribution network. This system reinforces the marina’s commitment to sustainability by ensuring a safer and more environmentally friendly refuelling process, supporting both operational efficiency and ecological responsibility.

A year of growth and success

The completion of the transformation project in 2024 has further strengthened Marina Port Vell’s reputation as an international superyacht hub. With a record-breaking year in terms of occupancy, the marina has attracted some of the world’s most prestigious yachts, reaffirming its appeal as a preferred destination.

A standout moment of the year was Marina Port Vell’s designation as the “Preferred Superyacht Marina” for the 37th America’s Cup. As the global epicentre for superyachts during the competition, the marina welcomed over 150 large vessels, 75% of which were visiting the city for the first time. To accommodate the increased activity, the marina significantly expanded its team, growing from 30 to over 120 employees.

Beyond infrastructure enhancements, Marina Port Vell remains steadfast in its commitment to providing world-class service. Personalised concierge assistance elevates the experience of visitors to great heights, while its emphasis on safety, with 24-hour security and permanently staffed reception, adds to its boutique feel.

Looking ahead: innovation and excellence in 2025

After a milestone year, Marina Port Vell is set to build on its achievements in 2025, focusing on sustainability, technological advancements, and strategic growth. The marina will continue enhancing its world-class facilities and services to exceed client expectations.
