A busy Caribbean season in the Grenadines...

Caroline Blatter

The 2022 – 2023 Caribbean season was a busy one in the Grenadines.

Sandy Lane Yacht Club & Residences, nestled in the pristine tranquil waters of Canouan, welcomed more yachts than ever to enjoy the marina and all its facilities. The marina was happy to see that many of these yachts extended their initial stays, and even returned several times again during the season.

The new luxury gourmet store,
Faye Gastronomy, delighted both Captains & Chefs alike – with the sumptuous array of fresh produce and exquisite foods on offer, which are typically difficult to source in the region.

Charter yachts cruised between Port Louis Marina in Grenada and Sandy Lane Yacht Club & Residences in Canouan,SVG on a regular basis and this route proved popular, with many guests arriving or departing out of Canouan’s airport. The ARC Rally and Oysters stopped off in Canouan after the rally finished at Port Louis.

Hosting the marina’s first official group of yachts, Oysters on a post rally after party, Sandy Lane Yacht Club & Residences is becoming the “must stop” on any cruise within SVG waters!
Crews were able to relax, rejuvenate, unwind at the beach club and crew bars, and stock up and refuel before the next trip.

This season has also seen a new interest from yachts remaining within the Caribbean or Americas to enjoy the cruising of the lower Caribbean during the shoulder and off season.

Thank you to Zandra Sissing, marina manager for these updates.
