New Safety Initiative for the Superyacht Sector

Caroline Blatter

'An independent and confidential reporting system for the Maritime industry'

CHIRP Maritime (Confidential Human Factors Incident Reporting Programme) are proud to publish their first 'Superyacht FEEDBACK' newsletter - a distinctive yacht-specific publication focused on safety issues encountered on Superyachts.

This is a dedicated publication under the CHIRP Charitable Trust banner for the yachting sector.

Superyacht FEEDBACK complements their existing (and continuing) Maritime FEEDBACK newsletter.
The aim is to share yacht-specific reports, reviewed by yacht crew and shoreside personnel, simply and exclusively for the purpose of improving safety in the superyacht industry.

This is a confidential independent reporting programme, with an online platform and App to view the Latest Reports, the FEEDBACK Newsletter and a Hot Topics and Analysis tab.

This Safety Newsletter focuses on the primary human-factors that contributed to incidents and near misses, with the sole purpose of learning and improving safety in the yachting industry.

CHIRP believes in a ‘just’ reporting culture, so while they may highlight failures of process and procedure, they  never ‘name or shame’ and go to great lengths to ensure that individual people, ports or vessels cannot be identified, of paramount importance and respect to crew in the Superyacht industry with so many having to sign NDA's.
