St. Nicholas Abbey
St. Nicholas Abbey is one of Barbados’ most historic landmarks, located at Cherry Tree Hill in St. Peter – on the east side of the island. It is a Jacobean mansion, built in 1650, and today remains as only one of three existing Jacobean period mansions in the Western Hemisphere, so it’s quite a unique experience. The plantation and its many buildings have been restored and remain much as they were for the past three centuries. More recently, the Abbey blends and bottles its own St. Nicholas Abbey 10 and 15-year-old high quality Barbados Rum, along with other sugar cane related products. Guided rum tours are available while visiting the Great House, complete with video presentation and, of course, rum imbibing! Open Sun-Fri 1000-1530hrs.
