About Scandinavia & The Baltic

The Baltic and Scandinavia, covering multiple countries including: Sweden, Norway, Denmark & Finland, offer expansive opportunity to indulge in stunning nature, clean, pure air, secure and private anchorages and enjoy rich culture and history.  Not to forget the famed Northern Lights in the winter months and long summer days during July and August, the clean air and endless skies are exhilarating.

Whilst now growing in popularity with visiting yachts, these regions definitely retain their natural heritage and traditional ways, particularly as they really only started to open up after the fall of The Berlin Wall in 1989, which lead to the departure of communism from Eastern Europe.

The Baltic Sea offers shorelines covering Germany, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden – more than enough choice to keep curiosity and senses alive! It is also the world’s largest expanse of brackish water, and is almost landlocked by Eastern Europe, offering old castles with stories to tell, soaring dunes, endless sandy beaches, magical forests and stunning lakes; it will not disappoint!

The largest peninsula in Europe, Scandinavia extends north of the Arctic circle but maintains a relatively temperate climate due to the Gulf Stream.  The landscape has been etched by the ice ages creating a mix of Fjords, mountains, tundra’s, lakes & moraines, archipelagoes, forests and flat lands.

There is a history of sailing and travel by water in this region, with many small ports primarily for smaller yachts but it is generally possible to find dockage for 50m + yachts.
