Superyachts visiting Australia and the South Pacific have a new service centre and seasonal base on the Gold Coast at The Boat Works’ newly built Superyacht Yard & Marina, the largest, cleanest and greenest Refit Complex in Australia. The Boat Works is located in the heart of the Gold Coast on the Coomera River.

The Boat Works’ owner, Tony Longhurst has invested more than $100 million on the new purpose-built superyacht facility that compliments the existing Southern Boatyard. Already compared to the iconic Rybovich Super Yacht Marina in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Boat Works South and North Yards accommodate vessels of all sizes and models to 45m with a comprehensive array of marine trade professionals on site.

The Superyacht facility, opened in early 2020, with amenities for up to 60 superyachts to 50m LOA, on water, within the 20 individual superyacht sheds and expansive hardstand allocations.

The individual superyacht and megayacht sheds accommodate yachts up to 50m in length/ with a 20m height,  complemented by the new marina with over 100 work berth options. Dedicated superyacht berths range from 24m berths up to the single shoot at 75m. Then there’s the brand-new 300 Tonne Marine Travel Lift which will operate in conjunction with the existing 100 & 70 tonne Marine Travel Lifts and Hydraulic Sealift for wide-bodied multihulls servicing The Boat Works’ southern facility.

The choice of a staggering number of individual refit sheds, 50+ over the two yards, provides Captains and owners with the confidence of quality-controlled work environments. The 25+ Superyacht Sheds, all screened with double sheeted walls fitted out with latest generation LED lighting, internal cameras & multiple high amp power options. Each Superyacht shed will include private en-suites with showers, dedicated air-conditioned work offices to accommodate tools, plans etc.

In the style of an Airline Club Lounge, a VIP lounge with large panel glazing and 5-star amenities will be located adjacent to the superyacht lifting bay as a vantage point for Captains and owners to view their vessels during haul out and water blasting. Parking and concierge services are conveniently on the doorstep.

The expansion of the superyacht refit and repair facility will include a world-class lifestyle offering: restaurants, bars, boutiques, professional offices, mixed retail, conference and function centre and crew accommodation. Given its exceptional amenities and warm hospitality The Boat Works is renowned for, it will be a preferred pitstop for migrating yachts cruising the east coast to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef.

All this is in addition to the thriving southern yard, which has been evolving since it was established in 1980. Operating at full capacity with a current haul out rate of 50 vessels per week using three specialist lifts, the south yard features a comprehensive Chandlery and paint supplies superstore and 60+ tenants on-site, who represent every facet of the marine industry. Food and beverage venues, The Galley Restaurant and Espresso Twenty5 Cafe with its prestige car museum, are a genuine point of difference and have become a lively social hub.
