Pilotage - New South Wales

Local boats can ask for pilot exempt up to 80 m if they have a captain/navigator on board with sufficient local knowledge. Port authorities test this, they will join a few trips and if okay the boat (or person) gets the exemption. 

Otherwise a pilot is required from 30 meters up.  

You are strongly advised to arrange all piloting via your agent.
