About Venice

At the very top of the Adriatic Sea lies the floating city of Venice, built on over 100 small islets within the Venetian Lagoon and separated from the sea by a strip of land called the Lido di Venezia.

At present, yachts can enter the lagoon through the Lido-San Nicolo Canal – a deep water channel that leads right up to St. Mark’s Square. The water in the lagoon is generally shallow here, tides are significant – probably the only time a yacht needs to consider the tidal range while in the Mediterranean!

With no roads, just canals – this enchanting city is packed with culture & history – spanning ancient Renaissance & Gothic Palaces, galleries with centuries old collections of art, modern exhibits, romantic Gondola rides, fascinating museums to world renowned classical music concerts & iconic operas in the beautifully restored La Fenice Opera House!

A ship agent is needed for formalities and berthing, so contact our Recommended Yacht Services Agents for further support and guidance. Summer can bring huge crowds  – but with experience and knowledge you can find the more secluded Venice..
