About Sardinia

Known as ‘The Island of Wind’, Sardinia enjoys offshore breezes throughout each season, which happily reduces humidity and has made the island a top location to spend the summer. Sardinia was left pretty much undiscovered by tourism until the 1960’s and even now you’ll find many areas of the island seemingly untouched by time.

The rugged, spectacular interior of the island is littered with historic ruins, sheep, small vineyards and an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables. Sardinia was and continues to be organic in everything that it produces- Sardinian produce is therefore more expensive than that imported from the mainland.

Sardinian wine is amongst the finest in the world, but it is so sought after and produced in such small quantities, that vintages often run out after a few months.

Porto Cervo is considered the Capital of the Costa Smeralda, the St. Tropez of Sardinia- in the summer, becomes an international, open-air VIP lounge.

Its port is one of the largest and best equipped of the Mediterranean and in summer is resplendent with fine yachts. This is now an IGY run Marina, and still home of the world-famous Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and annual Superyacht Regatta held every June.
