About Trinidad & Tobago

Trinidad

The Trinidad yachting sector is serviced almost entirely within the Chaguaramas Peninsular, with many yachting and ancillary services available within just a two-mile radius! For refit and repair works to the boat, there is a choice of boatyards and a large Travel Lift at Peake Yacht Services, all supported by Trinidad’s unique ‘supply chain’ access to commercial resources for materials sourcing, fabrication and repairs.

There are also some great chandleries on location. We have listed a selection of these service providers that come recommended to us as being the best and most reliable around. Visiting yachts can also make use of excellent volume fuel bunkering opportunities and high-quality gourmet provisioning services plus warehouse shopping centres to replenish the ships stores and inventory.

Beyond all the technical services on offer, Port of Spain overflows with fine dining, restaurants, bars, clubs and the general exuberance of urban ‘Trini’ culture, which peaks each year at their world-famous Trinidad Carnival. In contrast, the rural areas of Trinidad & Tobago also harbour their own treasure troves with breath-taking flora and fauna to delight all nature-lovers.

Tobago

Tobago, the sister island of Trinidad, offers spectacular diving amongst rich and colorful reefs with over 250 species of Atlantic coral and hundreds of fish. Ashore, Tobago has phenomenal birdwatching (with over 200 species on this small island), two championship 18-hole golf courses with palm tree lined fairways, picture perfect beaches and the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere (the 1,000 year old ‘Main Ridge Forest Reserve’).

Tobago is most developed in the south-west or Lowlands area of the island - especially the unique capital of Scarborough and the ANR Robinson Airport which is located conveniently close to the main yachting anchorages of Pigeon Point and Store Bay for guest pick-ups.

The Northern Caribbean coast brings with it the beautiful coral sandy beaches of Castara – plus workable anchorages at Englishman’s Bay, Parlatuvier and Bloody Bay. Most northerly is Charlotteville, which like Speyside, has amazing coral reefs within swimming distance of the beaches, making it ideal for diving and snorkeling. The beautiful Pirates Bay is also ideal for a private barbecue on its one-mile stretch of beach (accessible only by tender).

About one and a half miles out to sea from Speyside is Little Tobago – an uninhabited seabird sanctuary. Facing Little Tobago is the favorite Batteaux Bay, home to over a dozen giant Atlantic Mantas, dolphins and turtles.
