Arecibo Observatory

The William E. Gordon Telescope at the Arecibo Observatory is the World’s largest and most sensitive radio-telescope. Visitor Tours available from Wed-Sun. The Arecibo Observatory has been used to gather data on Mercury, Venus, Jovian Satellites and Saturn’s Rings and satellites. It is also used to study the earth’s upper atmosphere. The visitor centre is open from Wednesdays to Sundays from 0900-1600hrs, and represents a unique opportunity to see first-hand one of science’s most amazing technological developments.
