Admiral’s Inn - Gunpowder Suites & Boom Pool Restaurant
The Admiral’s Inn and Gunpowder Suites
With significant recent upgrades, the Admiral's Inn and Gunpowder Suites has retained its historic charm while substantially expanding its appeal through the addition of the deluxe Gunpowder Suites, an infinity-edged pool with spectacular views overlooking Dockyard and a second poolside restaurant, Boom, with daybeds, hammocks and a spa. The rooms at the main hotel, housed in 3 buildings dating from Nelson’s era, range from standards to deluxe Loft Suites and all feature AC, Wi-Fi and a free boat ride to the beach or to the highly popular Boom pool restaurant. Highly recommended for a crew get-away or for visiting family to stay.
We have received rave reviews from crews regarding not only the rooms and Boom restaurant, where they also report enjoying lounging on the daybeds and getting a massage, but also the food at the main Pillars restaurant with its stunning waterfront setting - one of the best locations for a romantic dinner, a relaxing lunch or a large crew party.
Don’t miss Pillars, Boom and The Ads & GP Suites next season! It’s only a 5 minute walk from the Falmouth and Dockyard marinas but feels like a world away.
The deluxe Gunpowder Suites (with stunning views of the harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard) are deservedly in high demand. Set on two acres of manicured waterfront gardens, the suites feature a large infinity pool – with spacious surrounding terrace to lounge on daybeds, enjoy a quick dip, take a massage at the spa or enjoy some tasty meals and cocktails at their ‘Boom’ poolside restaurant. The suites feature king-size beds, tea/coffee making facilities, iPod docking stations, minibars, WiFi and air-conditioning.
A fantastic place to say - book early!
Boom Pool Restaurant and Gunpowder Suites
Boom, with its poolside seating and spectacular infinity-edged pool overlooking Nelson’s Dockyard, has now become a favourite for yachties, and is well worth a visit.
Opened in 2014 as an extension of The Admiral’s Inn, it’s only a 5 minute walk from the marinas in Falmouth and Dockyard, yet feels like a world away.
Crews can pop over for a tasty relaxing lunch or spend the day lounging on daybeds, enjoy a massage at the spa, dip in the pool, sample delectable dishes and sip their favourite cocktails or wine.
Boom is also available for private parties and we heard through the grapevine about a few well celebrated events there.
We received glowing reviews of the fresh, locally sourced Mediterranean inspired food and infamous cocktails.
Open every day from 1100 to 1800 hrs and some nights for dinner – reservations are recommended.
For weekend getaways, crews should definitely check out the popular Gunpowder Suites, built around the remodeled 18th Century gunpowder magazine next to Boom. Featuring king-size four-poster beds and modern amenities, these suites offer a serene retreat.
So close – yet a world away!
