Boone Hall Plantation
Quick links: Contact Description Reviews
In nearby Mt.Pleasant - only 8 miles from Charleston - sitting beyond a tree lined avenue, lies Boone Hall. Founded in 1681 for Maj. John Boone, an Englishman, this marvelous example of an historic working southern plantation has been producing crops for over 3 centuries. The McRae family opened the doors in 1956 and have proudly been sharing their home with the public ever since. Originally a cotton and pecan farm, this working plantation now sells mostly fruit and vegetables, canned and jarred goods at their own local market located nearby on HWY17.
