Les Gorges du Verdon

A two-hour drive from Toulon will take you to France’s answer to ‘The Grand Canyon’. This is an impressive canyon running over fifteen miles between Pont-de-Soleils and Sainte Croix Lake. The height can be over 2000 feet in parts. As well as enjoying the spectacular scenery, there are numerous activities available, including white-water rafting, hiking on riverside paths, mountain biking, rock-climbing and paragliding. As the path goes through some long and dark tunnels, you should bring a torch. Don’t miss a visit to the historical and attractive village of Moustiers, located just north of St. Croix Lake.
