The Sóller – Palma Train
Quick links: Contact Description Reviews
The Sóller train has been running since 1912, providing a much-needed link between Sóller and Palma. The vintage carriages are still in use today, complete with mahogany panels and brass fittings and - although still used by the islanders - it is the tourist trade that keeps this classic means of transport running. There are five trains a day during the summer months. From the town of Sóller the train dramatically climbs through a series of hairpin bends to enter the three kilometre long tunnel. Once out the other side there is one stop at the attractive hillside village of Bunyola from where the train gracefully descends and travels on across the country plains to the station at Plaza Espanya in Palma.
