Fort Charlotte

For panoramic views of Kingstown Bay and an interesting ‘artwork museum tour’ dedicated to the history of the island (with particular focus on the island’s native Caribs), a visit to the 34-gun Fort Charlotte (built in 1806, originally housing a garrison of 600 men) is a convenient diversion. Interestingly enough, Fort Charlotte’s buttresses and guns all point inland – a testament to the ferocity of the local Caribs of the time!
