Once the site of the Illyrian Queen Teuta’s summer residence, and later the seaside location of choice during Roman, Medieval and Venetian eras, the deepwater harbour was transformed into an Austrian naval base at the end of the 19th century. Now home to Porto Montenegro’s new marina village, it is a bustling young nautical community with restaurants, bars and cafés. Nearby there are numerous pretty coves and it is reported to have the greatest number of sunny days of any town on the Bay!
