Hiking The Mediterranean Steps
Quick links: Contact Description Reviews
This historic challenging walk was reopened in July 2007. Neglected for many years, the path was originally built by the British Military for defence purposes and was closed in 2005 to undergo major safety improvements such as the re-sculpting of the crumbling steps, the positioning of handrails on the trickiest sections and information boards placed at strategic viewpoints. Not for the faint hearted, this 1,400 metre climb briskly soars from a starting point at Jew’s Gate 180 metre above sea level to the O’Hara’s battery at 410 meters above sea level.
