The Blue Mountains

The 194,000 acre Blue Mountain and John Crow Mountain National Park, located on the eastern sector of the island, represents Jamaica’s highest peaks and last remaining rainforest area… and is home to more than 500 species of flowering and exotic plants (some of which bloom only once every 33 years!) a variety of fauna and birds, and is also home to the second largest species of butterfly in the world. A traditional Blue Mountain trek can be undertaken, which is a 7 mile hike to the peak ascending 3,000ft and usually takes 3-4 hrs.
