Hotel Nacional De Cuba

Overlooking the Malecon waterfront boulevard and the entrance to Havana Bay, this famous and large hotel benefited from a much needed US$64 million in 1992, which brought it closer to its former glory as a preferred and favourite hostelry for heads of state such as Winston Churchill, and Hollywood screen stars such as Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn and Ava Gardner. It certainly was the place to be in Havana in its heyday, and is always worth a visit to sample some refreshing mojito drinks at the bar in the early evenings, take in the sweeping views of the Malecon across to Habana Vieja and observe the pictures of all the visiting stars and VIPs that now decorate the walls.
