Marina Bay is conveniently located on the East Bay offering yachts a safe and comfortable place to berth with beautiful views of downtown San Francisco, Oakland, Marina Bay and the entire Bay area. First impressions are important… it may be the way the marina office answers the phone or the greeting one gets upon arrival. Many times marina guests are new to the area, and a friendly staff member goes a long way when you arrive from a delivery or after a trip with guests on the Bay. Steve Orosz and his assistant Henry Mink offer an upbeat, well run marina facility. It’s Big… with over eight hundred slips… but the cordial informal atmosphere enables customers to feel at home whether they are transient or long term customers. Their amenities include power, water, free high speed internet, telephone / DSL service, shower / laundry facility, free pump out station, shoreside storage units and onsite restaurant & deli. Marina Bay Yacht Harbor was originally designed and built by the city of Richmond on the site of a historic shipyard that was used to build Liberty ships during World War II; however it soon became apparent to city planners that it would make more sense to lease it out and let someone else make a go of it… which made good sense and it worked. The City of Richmond has always been associated with industry and includes world class boatyards and marine services, and Point Richmond provides nearby shops, bars and restaurants for entertainment. It is a convenient location for visiting yachts to access San Francisco and the Bay Area. Amtrak, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transport) and the close proximity to major freeways and the international airports in Oakland and San Francisco make for easy travel around the Bay Area and all points beyond and easy access for parts, supplies and services. Vessels 30 meters and over are encouraged to contact the marina in advance for availability as space may be limited during the America’s Cup races.
