Surfing

Folly Beach came recommended as a good all round beach break during conditions of developed ground swell (Folly Beach is located to the south of Charleston on 171 - at James Island / Folly Island).

There is also a surf shop onsite (see ‘Surf Shop’ section), which rents boards and sells gear. Look at the following interactive surfing website for more information and up to date reviews on this surf spot and for other breaks in the area. Take Route 17 Southwest and 30 / 171 to the beach.
