Jane Finch's Celebration of Life

There will be a Celebration of Jane's Life on Saturday 13th November, at the Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre, on the Shirley Heights road, English Harbour.

For Jane's friends and community who can not be there in person, there will be a live steam over YouTube, starting at 2:30pm Atlantic Standard time.

Our heartfelt thoughts go out to Jane's beloved son Jareese, her family in Canada and the close knit community in Antigua.

Jane was brutally and fatally attacked in her own home, and died on Monday 4th October 2021 in Antigua.
She leaves a huge gap in many of our lives, as a work colleague and dear friend, and is very sorely missed.
Through her connections on social media, she kept many people up to speed on happenings in Antigua, sharing the goings on in her daily life.

Jane had a beautiful spirit & strong energy for life and living, she was connected to mother earth, to people, to her community & friends all around the world, sharing love and peace always.
In tough times, she kept going, standing tall and positive, still giving to others.

Born in Canada and raised in Victoria BC, Jane was introduced to sailing in the mid 1970's in Malta, where she sailed throughout the Mediterranean on the beautiful 1936 Fife ketch Eilean. She then crossed the Atlantic to Antigua, where she chartered throughout the Caribbean Island chain as first mate and chef on board Eilean, for the following 8 years.
She moved ashore in Antigua in 1982 and worked at the Antigua Yacht Club for 4 years as Restaurant Manager, until the birth of her Son Jareese in 1986.

Jane has worked for a local newspaper as a journalist, a tour Rep in Cruise Tourism and kept her interest in Yachting alive, being actively involved in various regattas and working with the Antigua Charter Yacht Show for several years.

As a research Author for
The Superyacht Services Guide Antigua & Barbuda chapters, Jane wrote extremely efficiently and with a deep care and commitment for the services she represented, and the Islands she loved so much.
