Baja California Marina officially Welcomes large Superyachts

Caroline Blatter

Marina Puerto Escondido, Baja’s newest megayacht marina announced the completion of a multi-year dredging project that has significantly deepened the entrance channel into the marina to allow megayachts to enter.

With very limited slip availability in Baja California lately, the completion of this project means that superyachts can take advantage of this additional harbor when traveling in Baja California.

Furthermore, with a private FBO just 20 minutes drive from Marina Puerto Escondido, this destination is arguably the most convenient for megayacht guests in the area. The dredging project has rendered channel depths of 18 ft at low tide with a clearance width of 100 ft (total channel width is about 250ft). Now yachts of any size are invited to experience Marina Puerto Escondido’s premium service, remote protection, and natural adventure.

These improvements allow megayacht owners to take advantage of the natural hurricane protection that the marina has to offer. During hurricane season, an almost 360-degree land shield protects travelers at the marina against local storms, offering one of the best natural hurricane holes on this coast.

Since its Grand Opening in 2018, the team at Marina Puerto Escondido has invested heavily in growing its premium services and amenities to better cater to megayachts. This includes all yacht management services, hardwired slip ethernet connection, provisioning services, a chauffeur private entrance, highly customized concierge services, 24-hour security, helicopter jet fuel, private gym, pool/hot tub, and captain's lounge.

Marina Puerto Escondido is truly Baja's best-hidden secret. Coined the "Aquarium of the World" by Jacques Cousteau, the Sea of Cortez is a perfect adventure destination with numerous easily accessible anchorages in the area. Guests can arrive at the nearby FBO and be on the islands in less than 1 hour.

"The marina facilities were excellent, staff was on point and the whole area nearby is a paradise. Highly recommended."
