Find Lisa's Sails...

Caroline Blatter

Calling all yachtie windsurfers...
Lisa Vincent (Furlong) was one of the first British women to compete in Windsurfing professionally and helped pioneer the sport in the 1970's and 80's.

To fund her competitions and travels, Lisa used to paint windsurf sails and sell them en-route to get to her next destination...These 'bespoke one-off sails' were works of art - utterly stunning!

Very sadly, Lisa passed away in 2004 when her children, Jamie was 10 and Zoe was 6.

They are looking to hear from anyone who competed with her, or may even have photos of her windsurfing during her competitive sailing days.

Lisa competed in Hawaii, Egypt, Greece, Australia, England, Bahamas and Italy.

The family are also hoping to find out if any of her hand painted windsurf sails still exist?

Lisa never kept any of her sails,  so they are keen to see if they can track one down...

They have a hashtag #findlisasails and have set up a page to follow.

Some of her competitions: In 1979 she won the National Champion Series, was 1st Lady in the Heineken Cup 1979 (BoardSailing) and competed in the National Windsurf Class team between 1980-81.
