About the British Virgin Islands

The protected waters and great variety of safe anchorages throughout the British Virgin Islands have always made it one of the most attractive cruising destinations throughout the Caribbean.

“Step back in time on Anegada”, enjoy a beach lime with Tropical “Painkiller” rum punches on Jost Van Dyke, visit Cooper Island for a languid beach day, and cruise the jewel of the Virgin Islands, Virgin Gorda, and its natural deep-water anchorage of North Sound.

With so many popular anchorages and sites of interest, the BVI has something for everyone: Monkey Point, Diamond Reef, Diamond Cay or The Indians for snorkeling highlights and (if diving delights), there are many dive centres to help you decompress! Fly a kite, ride a bike, have a surf lesson or take a hike - explore the fascinating eco systems and topography and take in some spectacular panoramas. Shop for hand-crafted pottery, visit art galleries and for live music, swing by Leverick Bay, Quito’s in Cane Garden Bay & Foxy’s…..and every Full Moon, head out to a party in Trellis Bay and enjoy the infamous burning fireballs.

Easily accessible duty-free refueling is available on Tortola as are large yacht berths in the marinas; ISATCO can offer limited high security Superyacht dockage right in the heart of Road Harbour, the deep water port in Road Town.

Technical services are well represented too... Cay Electronics have deep knowledge and experience in high speed internet and satellite communications, even flying engineers to other islands. Parts and Power have a massive mechanical parts inventory. Provisioning companies have specifically dedicated staff to service yacht clientele and will deliver special orders directly to any marina. There are some truly holistic massage services; top quality sailmakers, riggers, a range of first class refinishers and mechanical engineers (some with chase boats), to help with emergency mechanical repairs or to deliver spare parts directly to yachts at anchor.

You can hire musicians to play onboard or book the BVI Skydancers, ‘Moko Jumbies’, for a memorable evening’s entertainment onshore; charter a private plane, a VIP Water Taxi, or even a trip to the exclusive Necker Island!

Weigh anchor and head to the outer islands to enjoy a relaxing day, a sunset cocktail or please your palate at one of the highly recommended restaurants or beach bars that contribute to making the BVI so special!
