Lauderdale Propeller

Since 1942 Lauderdale Propeller has served the marine industry by repairing and modifying propellers, and has become one of the largest propeller distributors in the USA.

A tour of their extensive facilities shows just what incredibly complex procedures are involved in repairing and reconditioning propellers, as well as shafts; and the radical developments in propeller design and manufacturing needed to satisfy the market demands for higher speed and efficiency, have in turn necessitated heavy investment in some very advanced computer operated machinery.

Lauderdale Propeller has some seriously sophisticated processes that include MRI computer propeller measuring (of up to 80” in diameter), two plane dynamic balancing of propellers, overlay repairing of eroded shafts, precisi on shaft straightening and the production of high quality shafts using their CNC turning centre... to name but a few!

But whilst the equipment is important, the amazing skills of the tradesmen at Lauderdale Propeller have to be seen first hand.

To watch them gradually altering the shape, size and pitch of the blades of a damaged propeller is like watching an artist at work... and the size of some of the propellers they work on is daunting!

Lauderdale Propeller is definitely the specialist for large yachts having shaft or propeller problems, or wanting to enhance their performance.
