Headhunter

Founded in 1982 by Mel Mellinger as a dockside plumbing service company located on Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale; sons Mark and Paul now run the company providing plumbing equipment and service to yachts, globally. Frequent call outs to repair complicated and clunky toilets in the early 80’s inspired Mel to develop a more reliable solution.

His dedication to customers and technology led to the development of the ‘Royal Flush’. Now known as the “Classic”, this toilet is sold today alongside a more aesthetic range of sizes and colours that all incorporate the proven ‘ no moving parts’ technology and feature an incomparable 5-year warranty. In addition to producing some of the very best marine toilets in the world, Headhunter now supplies complete sewage treatment systems, water filtration and pressure systems, tank level indicators and waste water collection and transfer systems. Everything supplied is of the highest quality and many of the parts are manufactured on site.

A visit to their impressive 50,000 sq ft production facility shows the attention to detail and great care and pride that they take in producing such efficient and reliable systems. Whilst their niche market is yachts, they also supply systems for luxury buses, offshore drilling rigs, tugs and work boats, commercial ships, cruise ships and navy ships, with customers spread throughout the world.

Field service teams travel locally and globally to perform installations on new and old yachts, commission the installation of others, train builders / installers and support any Headhunter products.
