One of the important contacts in this region is Chris Patterson of Jakera Tours, who had previously sailed around the Caribbean for 10 years prior to settling in Venezuela. He handles everything from jets to helicopters, food, customs formalities; and another of his specialities are his famous 'Amazon experience’ eco-tours, ashore. “He speaks good Spanish and knows everybody on the Venezuelan north coast that has anything to do with yachting.” Chris does quite a bit of work with visiting Superyachts and is a useful contact for planning and coordinating cruising itineraries in Los Roques, Isla La Tortuga and Margarita. Hanspeter Zingg came well recommended as being a very resourceful and reliable Yacht Support contact who can also assist in arranging visas and yacht clearances, provisioning and parts shipments, charter flights to Los Roques, meet and greet services for crew and guests, hotel accommodations, plus a host of other services. Hanspeter is originally from Switzerland and speaks fluent French, German and English as well as Spanish.
