This mechanical engineering firm, based out of Compass Point Marina on the east coast, came well recommended last season for their excellent stock inventory of parts including Racors and filters for Caterpillar, Northern Lights, Perkins, Mann, Onan, Westerbeke, Volvo and Cummins. They are also factory authorized service technicians for Caterpillar, Northern Lights, Perkins, Westerbeke and Volvo. Engineers can also purchase some of the highest spec. oil on the island from All Points Marine, including Fina, Texaco and CAT. They offer discount and free delivery to your yacht on all bulk spares and parts orders.

The company was set up two and a half years ago by ex-professional yacht Captain, Tracy Chance and has developed rapidly since then with a core of good technicians on hand to look after the yachts mechanical needs. They are a very busy outfit and last season saw them stretched to their limits working on a markedly increased number of megayachts at the newly opened Yacht Haven Grande marina in Charlotte Amalie. So do contact them in advance, if possible, to pre-schedule any work.

Currently based from a new workshop in Sub Base (just next door to ‘Deliver It / Virgin Islands Yacht Services’), we picked up another round of good feedback for Vince Nunes - who runs this business. Vince will take on engine and generator repairs of any make, and also carries out AC / DC electrical repairs, as required. He is often very busy in season and works alone, but is a great point of contact for all one's engineering requirements and assistance, and will always refer you to the best ‘alternative’ contacts as necessary, who can carry out the work if his schedule is too pressed. He is a great contact to have, very knowledgeable, and with good experience and ‘Trade integrity.’

Located in unit 15 - C at Havensight, this mechanical engineering company came well recommended as being "excellent with hydraulics, and very knowledgeable and helpful with fuel pumps and injectors." Hector is the man to speak to... who has had a lifetime of experience in his trade. They carry a good supply of Racor filter units and a large general filters, and can supply parts for Detroit Diesels, Caterpillar, Perkins and Cummins. Of note, they are a key supplier of replacement injectors and nozzles.
