SPECIALIST PROVISIONING
This specialist provisioning firm came highly recommended to us for their high quality produce by various large yachts, again last year. The business originally grew from a family of landowners and agriculturalists, into their role today as the supplier of a wide range of top quality food products to 85% of the island's hotels and restaurants. The company division supplying the yachting market is led by Manager Jean-Paul Simonet, who has been with the business for over 14 years. They have the finest cuts of meat imported direct from the U.S. - with no compromise to quality - as well as a full range of fish and seafood, including smoked Scottish salmon, freshly frozen halibut, plaice and scallops. Dairy products include continental cheeses, yogurts and whipping cream. They also import English horseradish, mustards, sauces, and Branston pickle; Thai and Japanese foods, including a variety of specialty rices. Products can either be purchased 'wholesale' (by the case) or 'retail' (individual items) and can be delivered directly to one's yacht, with payment by credit card. The highly respected chef and restauranteur, Joe Brown also offers a custom provisioning service for yachts, whereby he'll prepare any specific, top quality foods one might require in advance, to help stock the galley for a forthcoming owners / guests cruise. Pre-prepared cuisine items, base sauces / demiglace, soups, actually anything the chef might need to help in preparing / serving meals.
