SAILS / CANVAS
CrewsInn Yachting Centre is home to Trinidad's largest sail loft, Soca Sails. Owner Mark Loe has been sailing all his life - from small dinghies to major race yachts - and has been running his own business here for the past 12 years. With around 6000 sq.ft. of floor space they can supply, repair and re-cut even the largest sails and are agents for Doyle Sails and Andersen winches. They also refurbish existing canvas, and design / fabricate any new canvas works one might require. Their services came extremely well received by a number of Captains we spoke to again last season, who focused upon their highly competent technical ability, and friendly personal service. Soca Sails are a very positive and 'Top Rated' service provider, who, whilst seemingly being perpetually 'snowed under' with work, always bend over backwards to accommodate clients in need.

We received good feedback for this marine canvas company, that has been based within the Peake Yacht Services yard for the past 14 years. The business is run by Riad Shakeer, who has, himself, been in the trade for over 32 years. This huge depth of experience really gives him the knowledge to know what works and what lasts. With a team of 10 full time staff, they are agents for Sunbrella, Lenzip zippers, DOT fasteners; and take care of all aspects of marine canvas and upholstery including biminis, awnings, dodgers, dinghy covers, cockpit cushions, interior and exterior upholstery. They also stock a huge range of fabrics and kit for retail sale, including clear vinyl and closed cell foam in their large store room and workshop loft. In all, it's a very professional set up, that is gearing itself up to meet increasing demands. They tend to favour more 'Heat Seaming' fabrication techniques, and less 'Stitching' and have won several IFAI awards (Industrial Fabrics Association International) to back up their endeavours. They also are retail distributors for 303 Fabric Guard products. Contacts:
