Echo Marine - Trinidad

Located at Mariners Haven, Chaguaramas, this company is a large supplier of paints and antifouling systems to both commercial ships and sailing yachts alike. The business is owned and run by Peter Spinn, a NACE certified Marine Coatings inspector, who can assist with all paint and antifouling related problems. Echo Marine are the Caribbean distributors for Jotun paints and operate from three different locations, with warehouses in Trinidad. All topcoats - acrylic, chlorinated rubber, enamel and polyurethane - can be custom tinted to most US and European standards or colour-matched to blend with existing colours. The new range of Jotun antifouling products are a revolutionary replacement for the old antifoulings with TBT content, which are now illegal in most countries due to their negative environmental impact. Jotun SeaQuantum antifouling follows a patented 'hydrolyzing binder' concept ensuring excellent long-term performance and hull smoothness, and has therefore become the almost exclusive choice for Caribbean cruise-ships including their largest - 'Queen Mary'. A wide variety of traditional and sophisticated marine primers and intermediates are available for all applications, and a team of certified coating inspectors can be called in for advice and supervision. A smaller selection of Jotun Paints products are available through Island Water World in St.Maarten, St.Lucia and Grenada, as well as Vemasca in Isla Margarita.
