ELECTRICAL / ELECTRONICS
We always pick up great feedback for this electrical firm, based in Power Boats. The business is run by partners David Laughlin and Brian Sellier who have over 41 years collective experience in the electrical industry. Last season, one Captains quote, in particular, summed up the standard of service from Caribbean Marine Electrical... “Both Brian and David are really reliable. I run a busy charter yacht and they always work to my often difficult deadlines. They are very good to work with and I trust them totally around the boat!” They serve all the yards in the Chaguaramas area, servicing and supplying the full range of marine electrics including starter motors, high power alternators, multi stage regulators, engine panel instrumentation, engine alarm monitoring systems, switch gear, AC/DC distribution panels, shore power and cabli ng systems, cranking batteries and deep cycle lead acid batteries, generators, windlasses, electro-hydraulics, and any custom electrical diagnostic problems one might have... right up to complete re-wiring. Captains were particularly impressed by their 'up- front' and honest approach... and the company commitment to customer service even goes as far as offering a complimentary email follow-up service, whereby yachts they've worked on can come back to them requesting any problem solving or technical advice they might need.

Located in the Tropical Marine compound at Chaguaramas, business partners, Rainer Dobring and Andreas Kretzschmar have been in marine electrics and electronics for over 23 years, with Electropics having been running in Trinidad since 1998. This is a service for whom we have received very high quality feedback, and one that is very well geared towards the needs of professionally crewed yachts. As agents for Furuno and Mastervolt, Simrad, Robertson, Stratos, Globalstar, Garmin, Sitex, SEA, CMAP, Interphase, Octopus, Datamarine, ACR, Inmarsat, Iridium and Nobeltec - they are a 'full service' facility that can handle repairs / supply new equipment, for practically anything one might require in this field. One of their particular specialities, are autopilots, for which they carry their own stock of parts. Any other parts requirements / orders can be processed duty-free. They are also the Caribbean's sole manufacturer’s representative for SkyMate, a low cost mobile satellite email system. Contacts:
Located at Peakes Boatyard, this company came well recommended to us last season for both its professional pedigree in the marine electrical field and also its committed and loyal team of technicians. The business is owned and operated by Chris Nothnagel (Sam) and has been serving the yachting trade since 1999. T+T Marine Electrical carry out works on all kinds of vessels, including some important regional contracts with coastal defence / search and rescue coastguard boats... and they are equally at home working with luxury yachts and private vessels. They invest heavily in staff training programs, keeping everyone up to date with the latest technologies and endeavour to balance the fine art of keeping their products and services extremely affordable, without sacrificing quality. They offer the full range of marine electrical supply, installation and servicing, up to and including full rewiring works on engine harnesses, distribution systems and mast works. This year ‘T+T’ are offering new installations of PC based, onboard security systems which can monitor and record video events and histories over a wide span of onboard applications. They also supply and service alternators, inverters, electrical panels, electrical breakers, gensets...and much more. Contacts:
