Located in Chaguaramas Bay, within the CrewsInn Yachting Centre complex, Caribbean Yacht Works is home to one of the largest and most extensive yacht haul out / refit / repair facilities, in the entire Caribbean. Close by the Customs and Immigration offices, and part of the CrewsInn Marina and Hotel facilities, this full service Boatyard has a 220 ton travel lift (the largest in the southern Caribbean) and a host of craftsmen's shops within their 3 acre covered work area. They have a specialist 'in-house' contractor for composites / carbon / GRP works; plus a dedicated carpentry team - offering a full range of custom carpentry works. They offer an interesting choice of Trinidad teak or Burmese teak as required. Alongside this, they also have a paint refinishing centre - run by dedicated paint manager, Alistair Potter - where they will take on any custom paint works and are well renowned for their top quality Awlgrip paintwork.
Other services available include refrigeration, sails / canvas works, TIG and ARC welding, drive systems (propeller, shaft, rudder etc.) and antifouling. Security in the yard is fully ISPS certified - 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week, with 8 security guards, webcam coverage throughout the yard and bi- weekly inspections of yachts on the hard by the project managers and yard supervisor. A 'cooling tower' alongside the yacht is also available, from which a yacht can then run it's own air conditioning systems. There is excellent crew accommodation available, just a few minutes walk away at the CrewsInn Hotel, in which crew can be accommodated during a haul out, at specially discounted prices. They have done a lot of work for the Superyacht market over the years, including hauling one of the most eminent 'modern classics' and one of the J Class yachts, amongst others.
Caribbean Yachtworks also have a great team of yard staff working for them, four of whom have been with the company for 10 yrs now, including a very proficient travel lift operator alongside a highly dependable diver for the lifting strop positionings and a team of technicians who came rated as being "thoroughly committed, and a real pleasure to work with". A private 'Captains room' is available onsite, with phone lines - and the yard also extend office 'secretarial services', if required. In summary, this is a well equipped and well managed yard; seriously worthy of consideration by any large yacht in need of a haul out or any refit / repair works. Though do note that you don't have to be a big yacht to haul at Caribbean Yachtworks... for they welcome any size of yacht to their facilities, for whom they continue to offer guaranteed work and secure storage within the yard, at realistic and competitive prices.

Situated on the north of Chaguaramas bay is this very popular and professional large facility for haul out, refit, maintenance, repairs and storage of medium to large yachts. Peakes have a very good 160 ton travel lift and can lift yachts up to a maximum beam of 31 feet.
This is a very busy 'Full Service' boatyard with an extensive capacity for storing up to 375 boats on the hard. There are also stern-to dockage facilities available at very good rates for visiting yachts. The yard staff and travel lift operators came well reviewed for their professional 'know how' and friendly 'Can do' approach to moving and hauling yachts when the yard is very busy (as it is at most times).
The yard itself offers the full range of services, or clients can choose from independent professional contractors and project managers available onsite... that include a dedicated propeller and machine shop, hydraulic workshop, mechanical engineering workshop, crane services, rigging shop, electrical engineering shop, dedicated canvas shop, paint and GRP / composites, good chandlery store, marine surveyor, choice of independent onsite project managers... and much more. Onsite facilities for the yachtsmen include 'the Bight' restaurant and bar with two pool tables, complimentary Wi-Fi internet access and satellite TV; onsite 'hotel ' accommodation at economical prices; a very friendly and efficient laundry service; internet cafe; a complimentary YSATT water taxi available on demand; and 24 hour security and secure parking within the yard complex.
Last season's Captains feedback for Peake's yard, focused upon its attractive rates and flexible working environment, allowing project managers and Captains the freedom to choose from a wide range of independent authorised contractors... to suit the specific nature of the works and any individual preferences.
