Pacific, Asia & Middle East Author
Jan started her career in the yachting industry in 1991, initially working as a stewardess on a sailing yacht in the Caribbean. She very quickly jumped into the galley, enjoying the challenges of a career as a charter chef in this industry, travelling to mainstream yachting hubs and off the beaten track regions of the world. It was whilst working in the more remote areas, where provisioning facilities were sparse, that Jan developed an uncanny knack to source yacht supplies in the oddest of places!
Jan first arrived in South East Asia 24 years ago, as crew on a classic schooner; she has watched the yachting industry in this part of the world grow and develop into the Superyacht hub it is today.
On a couple of occasions Jan has enjoyed the sense of achievement of being more shore based, starting a catering company in her Australian Homeland, and developing an interior consultancy business in Thailand. In 2012, Jan received an Award of Excellence upon completing her Diploma in Events with distinction, specialising in Project Co-ordination.
With her love and knowledge of Asia, and working in the marine industry over the years, she has collected a wide and varied cache of contacts. She firmly believes in establishing a healthy respect for the diverse cultures in this region, all living on each other’s doorstep, which paves the way to a successful experience in Asia. Jan enjoys sharing her knowledge of this area, and researching for the Superyacht Services Guides.
